Krizia Robustella a Spanish designer mostly known for being featured on “NOT JUST A LABEL”, presented her SS17 collection playfully named “Happy Ending”. The collection is based on the concept of a funeral that is full of colour, flowers and of course irony. The collection features dynamic colourful prints, bold smiley faces, multi-coloured iconography and a lot of texture – think mesh.
Robustella is not well known but is slowly making her mark in design with her unique take on Sports Deluxe, Robustella merges comfort with luxury, and adds risk to her designs for those who do not want or feel the need to conform. Her designs are purposely eye catching and people who are willing to express themselves will enjoy wearing her playful designs.
The SS17 show saw different coloured mesh gloves being used to carry bouquets of vividly coloured tassel flowers, whilst else where in the show mesh tops were worn with the words “Rest In Paradise” printed on them. The sad face prints were ironically made to feel cheery as they were often seen printed in bold colour, or layered over a multitude of prints and colour.
Sport Luxe trainers were the go to shoes for the show, designed in orange and green and a blue and red combination, with “R.I.P” socks pulled up above the ankle. The collection despite the concept of a funeral has a young and vibrant feel. The colour clashes alongside the play on shape and textures makes the collection stand out as being high fashion yet wearable.
